The
Filipino Heritage Camp success is made possible by the wonderful support of
our Counselors!
Year after year the children say that their
counselor is the MOST important part of
camp for them! Many of their parents agree! Our counselors are
enthusiastic young adults, some of whom are adoptees themselves. All
of the counselors are of Filipino background or have Filipino siblings. They
participate in all of the camp workshops and activities with the kids, but
MOST importantly, serve as positive role models for the children and
families who attend camp.
We have been very fortunate
each year to have outstanding counselors. These young
adults are wonderful with the kids, but also enjoy time with each other.
Camp Counselors are being
sought for the 2007 Heritage Camp and are required to be in the 10th Grade
or above and either of Filipino background or have Filipino siblings. Though this is a
volunteer position, all camp fees, meals and lodging fees are provided as
well as letters of recommendations for jobs, scholarships and internships.
Those interested in becoming counselors will need to apply with the
Colorado Heritage
Camp.
