2005 Filipino Heritage Camp was a Notable Success!
We celebrated "Filipino American Me" this year and had the opportunity to explore some of the wonderful contributions made over the past 200 years by many Filipino Americans. We learned about famous doctors, artists, and sports figures. We explored the inventions that touch our every day lives. We also learned about many Filipino-American leaders that serve as role models for us including Jose Rizal, the current President of the Philippines, Generals in the US Army, State Govenors, and Presidents of many well founded civic groups including the FACC. We even played with the yo-yo, an invention that originated in the Philippines and was brought over to the United States by Mr. Flores and later sold to Duncan Yo-Yo! Through it all, the kids and Parents alike had fun discovering the contributions of these famous Filipino Americans that have enriched our lives today.
